Mrs. Gladys Elizabeth Pider, age 80, of Hart, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017, at her home.  She was born June 2, 1937, in Pentwater to Burton and Carrie (Scovill) Coon.  She was a graduate of Pentwater High School with the Class of 1955 and attended college.  Gladys married Douglas E. Pider on January 26, 1962 in Pentwater.  They were married fifty-one years before his passing in 2013.  She was a homemaker to her family and also worked on the family farm with her husband.  Gladys was a member of the Hart Congregational United Church of Christ.  She was a scout leader for both Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, a Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher and church diaconate at her church, was also "The Neighborhood Mom" and she loved watching sporting events.

Gladys is survived by her children, Katherine (William) Adams of Hart, Sharon Pider of Hart, Doug (Michelle) Pider II of Hart, Dan Pider of Hart, Dennis (Amy) Pider of Ludington; eight grandchildren, Joe (Kristie) Sallgren, Justin Adams, Janessa Pider, Douglas Pider III, Mercedes Williamson, Jaden Pider, Cassidy Pider, Delaney Pider; three great-grandchildren, Riley Andrew, Staley Jo Sallgren, Aspen Alvesteffer; one brother, George (Geraldine) Coon of Rochester Hills; two sisters, Ann Gerber of Thousand Oaks, CA and Doris (Roger) Evans of Iverness, FL; brother and sister-in-law's, Larry (Candy) Pider of Whitehall; and Mary (Lou) Burdick of Orefield, PA.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Douglas; one sister, Margaret Kistler; three brothers, Joseph Coon, Larry Coon, and Burton Coon.

The funeral service for Mrs. Pider will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Hart Congregational United Church of Christ with Rev. Dan Barnum-Steggerda officiating.  Interment will take place at Elbridge Township Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday, June 5, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at King Funeral Home in Hart.  The family requests that any memorials be directed to Hart Congregational United Church of Christ, 408 South State Street, Hart, MI 49420, Crystal Valley Care Fund, P.O.
