Mr. Glenn Allen Jacobs, age 79, of Hart, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Spectrum Health-Ludington Hospital in Ludington.  He was born April 15, 1937, in Muskegon to Herbert and Elaine (Kroll) Jacobs.  Glenn received his Bachelors and Master's Degree in Education from Central Michigan University and was employed as a school teacher at Hart Public Schools, until his retirement in 1993. Glenn was a US Navy veteran. He married the former Ruth Karsten on August 20, 1961 in Montague at St. James Lutheran Church. He was an active member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church.

Glenn enjoyed fishing, gardening, and woodworking. He was a nature enthusiast having been a bird watcher and member of the Oceana Audubon Society and had been a beekeeper. Glenn was the treasurer of the Hart Athletic Booster Club. He enjoyed going to the cabin, at Trout Lake, where his father, Glenn and his brothers had built together.

Glenn is survived by his wife: Ruth Jacobs, one daughter: Lianna (Michael) Doerr of Montague, and two sons: Brad (Amy) Jacobs of Indian River and Greg Jacobs of Hart; four grandchildren, Hanna Doerr, Olivia Doerr, William Jacobs, Addison Jacobs; one sister: Ruth Ann Jacobs of Montague. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Janna Marie Jacobs; two brothers, Roger Jacobs, and Lloyd Jacobs.

The Memorial Service for Mr. Jacobs will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM, from St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Shelby with Pastor Thomas W. Bye officiating. Interment will be in Oakgrove Cemetery, Montague. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at King Funeral Home & Cremation Services.  The family requests that any memorials be directed to Montague High School High School Band Boosters, Montague High School, 4900 Stanton, Montague, MI 49437.
