Mrs. Gloria Lavina Lynch, age 88, of Hart, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012. She was born March 12, 1924, in Grand Rapids to Glenn and Jessie Wallace. She married Harry W. Lynch in Scottville, on September 3, 1949. He preceded her in death on November 4, 1994. Mrs. Lynch graduated from Central Michigan University and taught in the Lake City Schools and Hart Public Schools. She was a member of Hart Congregational United Church of Christ and was active in the women's fellowship there. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Gloria loved her Lord and was an unconditional loving mother and grandmother; her family was always first. She enjoyed time at the cottage on Lake Michigan that she and her husband built together, as well as travelling the country with the children on vacation. She was an avid fan of Michigan, MSU, and Detroit pro athletic teams.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Laurie (Richard) Tubbs of Hart; two grandchildren, Sarrah (Rich) Johnson of Pentwater and Katie (Matt) Nieboer of Fremont; four great-grandchildren, Trey and Ava Johnson and Hailey and Deacon Nieboer; her daughter-in-law, Angelyn Lynch of Farmington Hills; one brother, Chuck (Alice) Wallace of Ludington; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Her son, David Harry Lynch, also preceded her on October 2, 2011. She was also preceded by her birthparents, Owen and Nettie Hosier.
A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Lynch will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at 12:00 noon at Hart Congregational United Church Of Christ in Hart with Pastor Lorraine Boucon officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Hart Cemetery. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Hart Congregational United Church of Christ or the Hart Area Public Library.
