IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gloria Lynn
Miller
December 9, 1939 – February 20, 2024
Gloria Lynn Miller, 84, of Montague, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024. She was born December 9, 1939, in Muskegon.
Gloria was a 1958 graduate of Muskegon Heights High School; while in school, she was proud to be a drummer for the high school band. She always maintained a love for music, especially classics from the 50s and 60s, and big band.
Gloria and her husband, Jack L. Miller, founded Big John's Pizza in 1970, and they operated the business together until Jack's death in 1974. At that time, Gloria, or as she was affectionately known by most locals as "mom," continued to operate the business and raise their six children until she retired in 1999. Her family and community were always the forefront of her priorities and she will certainly be missed by all of those she touched over the years.
Besides the pizza place, which was a large part of Gloria's life, she absolutely loved playing games and cards anytime the family could get together. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing the accordion, listening to her music, and her vanilla ice cream after dinner. But above all, she loved spending time with her large family. Family was always the most important to her.
Mom is survived by: her children, Jack (Shea) Miller, Robert (Deborah) Miller, Mickie (Julia) Miller, Brenda Kay Miller, Tim (Millie) Miller, and Gerrie (Amanda) Miller; as well as 25 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; step-children, Sue (Dan) DeHaan, Jane Miller, and LuAnn Miller; as well as nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her husband of 10 years, Jack L. Miller; father, Jacob Musich; mother and step-father, Helene "Nana" and Edward "Nano" Wittkamp; sisters, Barbara (Merritt) Mallory and Sandra (Bill) Hogan; and step-sons, Steve Miller and Dave Miller.
