IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gloria Lorraine
Voice
April 11, 1931 – July 19, 2021
Gloria L. Voice, of Kingsley went, to Heaven Monday morning July 19, 2021, to join her beloved husband, LeRoy. She was born on April 11, 1931, to Gordon and Gertrude (Say) Dunmore. On October 3, 1953 she married the love of her life, LeRoy Voice. Together they built their home on Voice Rd where they raised their family and where Gloria lived for the rest of her life.
In their home, they lovingly raised five children: a daughter, Karen (Dave) Laing of Schoolcraft; and sons, LeRoy Jr. of Kingsley, David (Pam) of Traverse City, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) of Interlochen, and Larry of Denton, TX; all of whom survive her. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Peter Voice of Kalamazoo, John Voice and James Voice of Grand Rapids, Joshua (Jenn) Voice of Oak Park, IL, Jeanette Voice and Jacqueline Voice of Staten Island, NY, Brooke (Hok Hei) Tam of Boston, MA, Alisha (Scott) Peters of Raleigh, NC; and three great-grandchildren: Lucas and Gareth Voice and Arielle Tam who will greatly miss their great-grandma.
Gloria was preceded in death by her dearest husband LeRoy Sr.; her parents, Gordon and Gertrude Dunmore; her sisters, Frances Huey and Annette Widrig; her brother, Robert Dunmore, and her daughter-in-law, LeRoy Jr.'s wife, Doris Voice.
Gloria had many interests. She loved seeing hummingbirds and pileated woodpeckers. She enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers whether they were winning or losing, listening to her country songs on CMT, and watching Hallmark movies and soap operas which she called "her stories." She also enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles, reading, game nights with her children and grandchildren, color tours, lunches out, and gatherings with her extended family.
A devoted mother and grandmother, she was always proud of her family's accomplishments. She was extremely proud that each of her grandchildren graduated from college. She was eternally thankful for her oldest son, Leroy, whose loving care made it possible for her to live her last years at home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Kingsley Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, in Kingsley, where Gloria will be buried beside her husband, LeRoy. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until the time of service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kingsley United Methodist Church and to the Palliative Care Ward at Munson Medical Center.
