Grace Rae Brower, 93, of Montague, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, December 30, 2023. She was born April 13, 1930, in Iron River, and was proud to be from the Upper Peninsula.

Grace was a caregiver her whole life. She was a generous soul that would care for or help anyone in need. If somone was hurting, they would seek Grace out for help, and she couldn't have been any more willing to help than she was. Even as Grace transitioned into assisted living and navigating her body's changes with age, she would make the best of every situation.

Grace's arms were always open, always willing to take in someone as if they were her own. She would often address her family's friends as her own family, and likewise, she was known as family by them.

Besides her caring nature, Grace was also gifted at painting, sewing, and knitting. She was a faithful member of the Evangelical Covenant Church of Whitehall, and was active with TABS, her Tuesday Afternoon Bible Study group.

Grace is survived by: her son, Phillip (Mary) Brower; son-in-law, Dale Cavanaugh; grandchildren, Dawn (Dennis) Hommerson, Donald Stephen, Christy (Page) Neve, Aaron (Jessie) Cavanaugh, Sarah (Karl) Anacker, and Adam Brower; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Randy (Jeannine) Stetson and Mary (Paul Cassise) Stetson; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, who she deeply loved for 51 years, Donald Albert Brower, on December 1, 1998. She was also preceded in death by: her children, Kathryn Cavanaugh and D. Scott Brower; and siblings, Joan Johnson, Nan Morgan, and Donald Richardson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Evangelical Covenant Church of Whitehall, 900 Warner Street, Whitehall, MI 49461, with Pastor Tom Beeghly officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, from 10:00 AM until time of services at the church. Private interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery, Grand Rapids.
