Mr. Heinz Kessler, age 77 of Hart, died Wednesday, August 27, 2008. He was born in Wittenberge, Germany on March 24, 1931 to Frierich and Hedwig (Luzak) Kessler. On March 20, 1974 he married the former Yvonne Morat in Whitehall. Mr. Kessler was employed with the ground crews of United Airlines at Chicago O'Hare. While in Germany, Heinz was trained to be a master pastry chef and had worked all over Europe and had even coked for former President Lyndon Johnson. He was a member of the Hart Congregational United Church of Christ. His interests included traveling, having visited every continent on the globe. Heinz had a driven work ethic and was never late or absent from his work. He liked German music, especially opera and the old church hymns. Mr. Kessler is survived by his wife of 34 years, Yvonne Kessler of Hart; son Curtis Morat Kessler of Chicago; brother in law, Dan (Jane) Morat of Mears; sister in law, Patty (Wayne) Nelson of Richland, MI; several nieces and nephews; close friends, Hans (Hiltrude) Schmidt of Berondorf, Germany, Grechen Eckert of Nuremberg, Germany and Hilde Barten of Hart. A private graveside service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Well Restoration Fund at the South Hart Cemetery through the Oceana County Community Foundation.
