Helen Catherine Bragdon, 94, of Muskegon, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024. She was born August 19, 1929, to Mathew and Mary (Zohl) Diendorf. She graduated from Ravenna High School in 1948. She worked many jobs throughout her life but most notably as a server at Walgreens and Hanson's restaurants, as well as an operator at Clark Floor Machine before finally retiring from Haworth in 1995.
Helen was a devoted woman of deep faith, and was a founding member of Prince of Peace Catholic Parish, in North Muskegon, Michigan. Helen also made her family a priority and was the best daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother to not only her own, but to all who knew and needed her. She set an example to all with her faith, love, hard-work, and bravery. She was especially proud of her cooking skills and would never let anyone leave her hungry. She leaves behind a legacy of special dishes that will remain in the hearts of anyone who has enjoyed them.
Helen is survived by: her daughters, Mary Vogelsong and Ruth (Rex) Sanford; grandchildren, Carrie Dean, Anna (Patrick) Wurthner, Carla (Keith) TenHove, Amy (Jeff) Barco, Mathew (Michelle) Strandberg, Timothy Strandberg, and Mary (Joseph) Mansfield; great-grandchildren, Brittany (Brian) Thompson, Christopher (Erin) Mitchell, Kelci Dean, Catherine Wharton, Lavelle Terpenning, Taylor TenHove, Macy Miller, Aiden TenHove, Alexander Strandberg, Ashton Miller, Gavin TenHove, Jon Strandberg, and Brynnly Mansfield; and ten great-great grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by: her parents, Mathew and Mary Elizabeth Diendorf; sisters, Florence Bueschel, Ruth Burns, and Mary Jane Diendorf; and brothers, Raymond Wagner, John Diendorf, and Robert Diendorf.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1110 Dykstra Rd, North Muskegon, Michigan 49445, with Father Godfrey Onyekwere presiding. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, February 26, 2024, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, 413 South Mears Avenue, Whitehall, Michigan 49461, with a praying of Holy Rosary beginning at 6:30 PM. Following Mass, a luncheon will be held at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Hospice of Muskegon or Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
