Helen Jean Carlson, 76, of Hart went home to be with her Lord on Monday night, November 5. She passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home. She was born on August 1, 1931 to Elmer and Bertha (Pearson) Carlson and raised on the dairy farm in Mears. She graduated from Hart High School in 1950. She met her husband, Wesley Carlson, the milkman, while working at Anderson's Grocery Store in Mears. They were married on June 15, 1951. They raised four children in a loving Christian home while Helen worked at Kysor of Rothbury for 25 years. She was a member of the Hart United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, of 56 years, Wesley Carlson of Hart; her children, Sandra Carlson of Hart, Sharon (David) Zoller of Stony Lake, Robert (Martha) Carlson of Hart, and Carla (Mark) Balcom of Hesperia. Grandchildren are Joel and Kristin Zoller, Samantha and Kade Carlson, Hallie and Amber Balcom and step-grand-daughters, Kaylee, Megan, and Hannah Kuipers. Her survivors also include Pat Carlson, Ron and Florence Carlson of Muskegon and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Sheldon and her brothers, Ted and Vern Carlson. Services will be on Friday, November 9 at 1:00 at the Hart United Methodist Church. Interment will be at the Hart Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 on Thursday, November 8 at the Tate-King Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Hart United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
