Mrs.  Helen Jeanne Grondsma, age 79, of Pentwater, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017, at her home.  She was born June 11, 1937, in Reed City to Lewis and Wilma (Fowler) Andresen.  Helen graduated from high school and was employed as a secretary for lumber companies in both Pentwater and Ludington.  She was also a cashier at the Wishing Well in Pentwater.  Helen married Nicholas H. Grondsma in 1958 in Hart.  They were married forty-one years before his passing in 1999.  Helen was an avid reader and fond of a good mystery or history book.  She also loved entering food preservation and crafting items in the 4-H exhibits at the county fair.  Helen enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and making afghan's for her children and family members as well as socializing with friends and family.

Helen is survived by her six children, Richard Blamer of Ludington, Cheryl (Robert) Church of Anderson, IN, Mark Blamer of Pentwater, Jessica (Louie) Adams of Pentwater, Nicholas (Bobbie) Grondsma Jr. of New Carlisle, IN, and Gwen Baker of Pentwater: nine grandchildren, Megan, Michael, Jamie, Keith, Christopher, Trisha, Elizabeth, Natasha, and Nathaniel; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda (William) Frankenberger of Belton, TX.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and grandson, Troy Adams.

The Memorial Service for Mrs. Grondsma will be Thursday, June 8, 2017, at 1:00 pm at King Funeral Home in Hart, with Pastor John Hansen officiating. Interment will be in the Pentwater Township Cemetery at a later date.  The family requests that any memorials be directed to Harbor Hospice, 1050 West Western Avenue Suite 400, Muskegon, MI 49441.
