Helen J. Parrish, age 88, of Hart, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility. She was born January 30, 1922 in Oakland, Maryland to William and Nina (Eizonas) Povish. She married John J. Parrish on September 22, 1941 in Oakland and he preceded her in death on March 14, 2008. Mrs. Parrish was a member of Shelby United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children, Rebecca Start of Grandville, John W. Parrish of Granbury, Texas and Mark R. Parrish of Hart; four grandchildren, Kendra Dozeman of Grandville, Christopher Parrish, Jamie Parrish and Rebecca Parrish all of Grants Pass, Oregon; two sisters, Nina Luckon of Antioch, Illinois and Juanita Broll of Baltimore, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; two brothers, William and Anthony Povish and a sister, Anne Schoen.

Services for Mrs. Parrish are Friday, October 1, 2010, 11 am at the Shelby United Methodist Church with Pastor Terri Cummins officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Those wishing to give a lasting memorial are asked to consider Shelby United Methodist Women's and Children's Ministries or the Oceana County Medical Care Facility.
