Mrs. Helen Suchy, age 91, of Pentwater, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011. She was born December 2, 1919, in Ecorse, MI to George and Helen (Cosma) Osan. She married Marvin Suchy on March, 16, 1952, in Fowlerville, MI. Helen owned and operated the Pentwater Market and Flower Shop for twenty years, until her retirement in 1977. She was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church, Pentwater Garden Club, Oceana Eagles Big 10 bowling team, and American Legion in Hart.

Helen was a generous person and always available to others. She enjoyed planting gardens in Pentwater, chicken dinners at the American Legion in Hart, and the Altar Society at St. Vincent's. Her family remembers her cooking, especially her Hungarian foods. She loved the Detroit Tigers. A florist, Helen loved orchids.

Mrs. Suchy is survived by her husband, Marvin Suchy, and two daughters, Diane (Allen) Dobrowolski of Fruitport, and Helen (Terry) Cloud of Crystal Valley and New Mexico; four grandchildren, Lloyd Cloud, David Cloud, Julie Desmit, Lisa Dobrowolski; one great-grandson, Jett Desmit; a niece, Valerie Farnsworth; and a nephew, Rudy Osan. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, George (Thelma) Osan and Rudy (Julia) Osan, and a sister, Valeria (Al) Yurko.

Graveside services for Mrs. Suchy will be Thursday, June 30, 2011, at 1:00 pm at Pentwater Cemetery with Rev. Fr. Phillip Sliwinski officiating. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Crystal Valley Care Fund, P.O. Box 451, Hart, MI 49420.
