Mrs. Helena M. Meehan, age 94, died Monday July 2, 2007. She was born May 18, 1913 in Crystal Valley to Joseph and Lucia (Kokx) VanBergen. Helena was a homemaker and member of St. Vincent Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She was married to Joseph Baker and following his death, along with the deaths of their two children Billy Baker and Roberta Baker, she married Gerald Meehan, who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Meehan is survived by her grandchildren Peter Ryan of Rye, NH, Gerald Ryan of Catania, Italy, John Ryan of Cromwell, CT and Sara Malanka of Washington, DC; brother, Henry VanBergen of Custer; sister, Martha Knowles of Pensacola, FL; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers, Frank, Matthew, John and Louis VanBergen; 4 sisters, her twin sister Lucina, Louise, Francis and Mary. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday, July 6, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. from St. Joseph Catholic Church-Weare with Fr. Anton Tran presiding. Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund.
