IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Henrietta "Lee"
Squire
September 4, 1940 – July 30, 2024
Henrietta Lee Squire passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024, after battling Alzheimer's Dementia for several years. "Lee" was born in Manhattan, Kansas, to Edith and Henry Pfeiffer. As an only child, her cousins were her siblings, especially her beloved cousin Dee. Lee met a serviceman from Muskegon, Michigan, Thomas Brainard, they married and moved to Muskegon, Michigan. Although Michigan became her home, she always referred to Kansas as "back home". Lee married Will J Squire in 1969, they moved to the White Lake area where they lived out their lives.
Lee was a fearless horse woman and loved grooming and preparing her kid's and grandchildren's horses for shows. She firmly believed that if there were animals to care for and chores to do, that left less idle time for her kids to get into trouble. She met some of her dearest friends in the horse world, as well as from her two long time employers, Doo Drop Inn and Howmet Misco.
Lee is survived by: her children, Sheryl Brainard-Squire, James (Joanne) Brainard, Karen (Gregory) Neubauer, Timothy (Darlene) Squire, and Jill Marie Squire; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, her cousin, Dianna "Dee" Grimes; and her family, as well as several cousins "back home".
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Will J Squire.
As per Lee's wishes, there will be a family graveside service on Friday, August 9, 2024, with Pastor John Brooks officiating.
Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
