Mr. Henry William "Bill" Leatherman, Jr., age 62, of Fountain, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Spectrum Health-Ludington Hospital in Ludington. He was born March 18, 1954, in Frankfort to Henry and Joanna (Walker) Leatherman, Sr. He was employed as a truck driver with Gainey Transportation.

Bill was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed kayaking after his retirement. He became a river master that was always interested in preserving the environment for all to enjoy. He was one of the founders of the Barefoot Paddlers and taught others how to kayak. Bill enjoyed the simpler things in life and knew no strangers, just friends.

Henry is survived by one daughter: Alicia Chasse of Fountain; his mother Joanna May (Ralph) Ezdebski of Wyoming, MI; sister: Carrol (Barry Frost) Leatherman of Grand Rapids, MI; Companion/Caregiver, Judy Witteveen of Ludington. He was preceded in death by his father Henry "Hank" Leatherman, Sr on December 6, 1997.

A Gathering of Friends and Relatives of Bill will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016, at 12:00 pm at Nine Mile Bridge. The family requests that any memorials be directed to King Funeral Home and Cremation Services, P.O. Box 583, Ludington, MI 49431, to aid the family with final expenses.
