Mrs. Irene Norma Stafford, age 77, of Walkerville, Michigan, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014. She was born April 2, 1936, in Grand Rapids to Rev. Lawrence and Nellie (Beeman) Hoffman. She married Raymond Stafford on April 3, 1954, in Walkerville; they were married 59 years. An avid league golfer and organist who enjoyed bird watching and flower gardening, Irene's favorite flowers were yellow roses. She was a firm disciplinarian who "told it like it is". She loved her dogs, Misty and Zippy, and enjoyed entertaining her family. She was a member of Walkerville Wesleyan Church.

Irene is survived by her husband, Raymond Stafford ; one daughter, Rebecca (Robert) Zack of Walkerville; four sons, Michael (Diane) Stafford of Muskegon, Mark (Debra Cole) Stafford, Kevin (Thomasa) Stafford, and Burton (Michelle) Stafford, all of Walkerville; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lawrence Hoffman of Morley. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, David Hoffman; and a grandson, Ross Conkle.

The Memorial Service for Mrs. Stafford will be held Saturday, January 25, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Walkerville Wesleyan Church with Pastor Jeff Lemire and Pastor Bob Abbott officiating. Interment will be in Colfax Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Crystal Valley Care Fund, P.O.
