Mrs. Isabelle Hazel McDonald, age 97, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016, in Brandon, Florida. She was born November 4, 1918, in Summit Township to Clinton and Molly (Beatty) Parsons. She married Clarence McDonald on December 7, 1940.

Mrs. McDonald was a former member of The United Methodist Church of Ludington, the United Methodist Church Women and was a Sunday School Teacher. She was very active with Mason County 4-H where she taught sewing, knitting and domestic things. She and Clarence were extensive travelers throughout the United States. Isabelle considered herself a lifetime resident of Mason County, but moved to Florida after Clarence passed away on April 19, 1983. She was considered to be a great cook, raising and canning nearly everything they grew in the garden. Baking was one of her specialties, baking bread and other items. They had eaten everything that was home grown.
Isabelle was one to take care of herself in regards to fitness. In Florida, she rode bicycle, swam, and walked daily to keep in top condition. Isabelle was using organic gardening, a longtime before it was the popular thing to do. She also raised rabbits.

Isabelle is survived by two daughters: Irene Dorothy Braden of Zephyrhills, FL and Joan Marie Ware of Fernandina Beach, FL and two sons: Gail Robert McDonald of Zephyrhills, FL and Michael Clarence McDonald; eight grandchildren, Jeanette, James, Jennifer, Gene, Sarah, Megan, Thomas, Elspath; two great grandchildren, Bryce and Jasmine;. one sister: Mercein Seymour of Ludington; She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Clarence McDonald, father, Clinton Parsons, mother, Molly Beatty; She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Louella Christenson, Franklin Parsons, Leonard Parsons and Frederick Parsons.

The Graveside Service for Mrs. McDonald will be Monday, June 20, 2016, at 11:00 am at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington. Interment will be made in the Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at King Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
