Jack Glover, 91, passed away in Bradenton Beach, FL on January 6, 2014. He was a 60 year winter resident of Sandpiper MHP in Bradenton Beach. His main residence was in Hart, MI, where he was born on June 19, 1922, to Phil and Nellie (Ervin) Glover. His life was spent farming the Glover Bros. Centennial Fruit Farm in Hart until he retired in 2001. Jack was a long time member of the Elks and loved to hunt and fish. He also collected vintage cars, many of which were Studebakers, and he was a railroad enthusiast. He proudly displayed an actual Steam Engine and Caboose in the front yard of his Michigan home. He told wonderful stories of his 91 years on this earth.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Caroline (Kamaraad) Glover; his brother, "Corky" Glover; and his sisters, Barbara (Glover) Larson and Geraldine (Glover) Jonassen.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marianne (Seitz/Manz) Glover; step-daughters, Helga (Manz) Matos and Rosemarie (Manz) Mundorff, both of Bradenton, FL; one step-granddaughter, three step-great-grandchildren, and nine step-great-great-grandchildren, all of Port Charlotte, FL; seven nephews, Tom McGuire of Mears, MI, Garth Larson of Hart, MI, Rodney Larson of Salt Lake City, UT, Martin Jonassen of Gallatin, MO, David Jonassen of West Olive, MI, John Jonassen of Walkerville, MI, and Andrew Jonassen of Athens, WI; and four nieces, Nancy (Larson) Hook of Toledo, OH, Bonnie (Jonassen) McCoy of Walkerville, MI, Susan (Jonassen) Bettys of Ovid, MI, and Irene Jonassen, of Hart, MI. Jack will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a friend to many.
The Memorial Service for Mr. Glover will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014, at 12:00 noon at the King Funeral Home in Hart, Michigan, with Rev. Ron Rickard officiating. Interment will be in Hart Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the charity of one's choice.
