Jack Allen Tate, 81, of Hart, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 19, 2023. He was born February 14, 1942, in Hart, to Donald and Alice Tate.

Jack was a graduate of Hart High School with the class of 1960. After high school, Jack joined the U.S. Navy Seabees, from 1960 to 1964. Jack worked 30 years for GTE and Verizon, retiring in 1995.

Jack became a Commander and lifetime member of VFW Post #1329 in Hart. He was a devoted member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Weare Township, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Jack was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and horseback riding around his home and out west in Montana.

On November 5, 1966, Jack married Regina K. Aerts, and they were married 56 years before his passing. Jack is also survived by: his sons, Tim and Gary Tate of Hart; sister, Shelly (Frank) Novakowski of Hudsonville; brother, Kim (Julie) Tate; sister-in-law, Marcia Tate of Tucson, Arizona; grandchildren, Lindsey (Charles) Richardson and Jaxon Tate; and great-grandchildren, Lillian and Amelia Richardson.

Jack was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Tracy Jo Tate; and brother, Donald Lane Tate.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 25, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2380 West Jackson Road, Hart, MI 49420, with Fr. Phillip Sliwinski presiding. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, 2370 North 72 ^nd Avenue, Hart, MI 49420.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Crystal Valley Care Fund, P.O. Box 451, Hart, MI 49420; the Hart VFW Post #1329, 802 South State Street, Hart, MI 49420; or St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 2380 West Jackson Road, Hart, MI 49420.
