Jacob Anthony Benbow, born November 27, 1998, in Traverse City Michigan, passed away suddenly on July 27, 2024. Jacob was a cherished husband, father, son, brother, and uncle, whose warmth and generosity of spirit marked everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Jacob is survived by his loving wife, Teegan A. Benbow, his daughter Avelynn Elizabeth Lea Benbow (7), his son Jayce Anthony Benbow (6wk), his parents Jason and Jeannette Benbow, his siblings Jenna L. Crandall (Chris Wert), Trenton Crandall, and Courtney J. Benbow. He also leaves behind his nephews, Leeland Crandall, Quinton Crandall, and Jax Wert, along with his grandparents, Judy L. Pickard, Toni S. Mahoney and Micheal H. Cowley numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who held him dear.
Jacob shared a special bond with his father through their work in concrete and love for the outdoors. Jacob's love for his family was unwavering, calling his mother daily to give her his love. A true outdoor enthusiast, Jacob found joy in fishing, hunting, dirt biking, hiking, and four wheeling. His passion for the outdoors was matched only by his ability to bring laughter and light into the lives of others. Jacob was always determined to uplift those around him no matter his own struggles. Always offering a smile, laughter and encouragement, sometimes even pushing the limits just to get a reaction out of you to lighten your mood.
Jacob was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William Dean Cruise, and his maternal aunt Sherri Lynn Pickard. His ability to see people for who they truly were and his unwavering desire to help others will be profoundly missed.
A celebration of Jacob's life will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, August 3, 2024.
