Jacqueline "Jackie" L. Stevens, 90, of Pentwater, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 25, 1927, in Ludington, the daughter of Walter and Hazel (Luhrs) Smogoleski.
Jackie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who was well-liked for her kindness and sense of humor. She was an active member of St. Vincent Catholic and the St. Vincent Altar Society. She was also a member of the Pentwater VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Jackie served as the Pentwater Village Clerk for many years. In her spare time, Jackie was an avid NBA fan, especially of the Detroit Pistons and the San Antonio Spurs. She also enjoyed doing crafts, including ceramics, crocheting, sewing and knitting.
Jackie is survived by: her children, Tom (Gloria) Stevens of Oxford, Chris (Janet) Stevens of Marietta, Georgia, Deb (Bob) Brinkman of Pentwater, Lynn Stevens of Grand Rapids and Sue Emery of Holland; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Liz Cormany of Ford Lake, and Peg (Ron) Wilson of Scottville; 2 brothers, Jack (Pat) Smogoleski of Houston, Texas, and Tom Smogoleski of Ludington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jackie was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Claude Harvey Stevens in 1996; her great-granddaughter, Katelyn Rose Hicks; and 3 brothers, Larry, Walter and Glen Smogoleski.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 9, 2018, at St. Vincent Catholic Church, in Pentwater, with Father Phillip Sliwinski presiding. Interment will follow in the Pentwater Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, from 5-7 PM, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, 2370 N. 72nd Avenue, Hart.
