Mr. James Arthur Smith, age 73, of Hart, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at home. He was born September 21, 1942, in Fountain, Michigan to Ford and Emma (Strejcek) Smith. He was employed at Consumers Energy at the Pumped Storage Project and was a car handler for C&O Railroad Carferry. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Viet Nam.

Jim was an avid gun collector and shooter. He loved to ride motorcycles and cherished his daughter Catherine.

James is survived by one daughter: Catherine Smith of Hart; one sister: Joyce (Fred) Dake of Newberry, MI and two brothers: Jack Roberson of Fulton, KY and Bobby Joe Roberson of Grand Haven, MI; significant other, Janet Fletcher of Hart. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Memorial Service for Mr. Smith will be Saturday, September 17, 2016, at 1:00 pm at Weaver Park in Hesperia with Rev. Ron Rickard officiating. The family requests that any memorials be directed to the Smith Family for funeral expense.
