James "Jim" Lee Bristol, 81, of Traverse City, passed away on May 7, 2022. He was born on July 22, 1940 in Traverse City, Michigan to Richard and Helen (Cox) Bristol.

Jim enlisted in the military at the age of 17 and then spent a career working for the Traverse City State Hospital. Further, James was a lover of life and was always chasing the Sun or some mushroom. He loved to fish and hunt, especially mushroom hunt. He filled our family with adventure and we are sure he is now running around with the best of them in the afterlife.

James is survived by: his daughters, Sara, Jaime, Sam, Kathy, Julie and Jay Bristol; and his siblings, Chris, Pam, Rick and Cheryl. James was preceded in death by: his parents; and his siblings, Reggie, Steve and Donna.

A celebration of life will be held by the family at the American Military League in Traverse City, MI on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 3:00 pm. Military honors will be held at 4:00 pm.
