Mr. James Laverne Norwood, age 73, of Hart, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Tendercare of Ludington in Ludington. He was born October 5, 1943, in Casnovia, MI to Joseph and Beulah (Overley) Norwood. James graduated from high school and attended college. He was employed as a millwright at Howmet/Alcoa and retired in 1999.

James is survived by his three step-children, Patricia A. Vargas of Hart, Mario Vargas of Shelby, Ruben Vargas of Florida; five step-grandchildren, Jorge, Blake, Brandon, David, Sean; one step-great-granddaughter of Florida; two sisters, Pat Royce of Newaygo County and Karen Atwood of White Cloud and two brothers: Allen Norwood of Muskegon and Edward (Cathy) Norwood of Muskegon. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Fran Simon, and two nieces, Kathy Moore, Christi.

There will be no services for James according to his wishes.
