James Scott Ruszkowski (Jim) of Muskegon, Michigan, age 62, passed away of a heart attack at home on Friday, March 9th, 2018. He was born on September 13th, 1955 to Andrew S. and Edith M. (Newman) Ruszkowski in Grand Rapids, and raised in Marne, MI
Jim was a 1973 Coopersville High School graduate and played drums in the Coopersville High School marching band. Jim also attended Trade School in Furniture Refinishing. As a young adult, Jim was a Motocross racer, racing dirt bikes. He was at dirt tracks every weekend throughout Michigan and surrounding States. He has trophies from his racing days. He was very proud of them. Jim's later hobbies included participating in Motorcycle Swap Meets and flea markets.He was self employed as a sunglasses vendor for more than 25 years.
Jim was most known for his sarcasm and quirky sense of humor, also his chilled, laid back attitude about life. Jim was a collector of stuff; including bikes, motorcycles, electronics, and collectables of every shape and form.
Jim is survived by his two sons, Patrick T. Ruszkowski and Andrew James S. McConnell, also his former wife Patricia Kooy (Barrett).
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Edith Ruszkowski and older brother, David Ruszkowski.
Cremation has taken place.
An informal memorial luncheon is planned to meet and greet family and friends for this Saturday, March 17th, 2018 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Lebanon Lutheran Church: 1101 S. Mears Ave. - Whitehall, MI 49461 in the family lounge.
Food and refreshments will be at 1:00pm. Afterwards there will be an opportunity to share any stories about Jim's life for those who would like to. At 3:00pm we will have a closing prayer by Pastor Doug Ogden.

In lieu of flowers, an expression of sympathy may be directed to the family to help cover the final expenses and to help Andrew McConnell in the future.
