Obituary

Mr. James Cleveland Six, age 86, of Mears, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013. He was born October 4, 1926, in West Virginia to Francis M. and Ida (Hart) Six. Jim served in the Merchant Marine during World War II. He married Dorene Elizabeth Renouf on October 11, 1947, in Hartford, Michigan; they were married 56 years before her death on December 19, 2003. He was employed as a specialty project worker at Shaw-Walker in Muskegon until his retirement in 1989. Mr. Six was an avid bowler in Muskegon and played both baseball and softball. He coached White Lake Little League Baseball for over twenty years.

James is survived by one daughter, Realene (Jerry) Goforth of Dickson, Tennessee; two sons, Ron (Cathy) Six of Montague, and Layne (Marta) Six of Mears; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three half-sisters, Mildred (Robert) Richter, Mary Ann Campbell, all of West Virginia, and Sarah Six of San Antonio, Texas; and a daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Six of Chesapeake, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorene Six; a son, Lee Six; a brother, Bob Six; and a half-brother, John Six.

The Funeral Service for Mr. Six will be Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at King Funeral Home in Hart with Rev. Ron Rickard officiating. Interment will be in Mears Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the West Golden Wesleyan Church Food Pantry, 2752 N. 34th Ave. Mears, MI 49436.
