Obituary
James David Smith, 64, of Traverse City, died Saturday, April 24, 2021.
James, AKA Jim, Jimmy-Jack, Jack, or JD, graduated from Traverse City High School in 1974, and enjoyed NASCAR, deer hunting, and going two-tracking.
He is survived by daughters, Amanda (Dan) Purkiss, Jamie (Kris) Slater; grandchildren, Madison, Audrey, Cameron, Taylor, Brayden, Oliver, and Haley; and sisters, Cindy and Lindy. Also surviving is his Aunt May; and cousin Tommy.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Curtis and Violet Bossingham, and parents; David Smith and Elizabeth Waites.
A social gathering and visitation will be held from 3-5 PM, Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Beacon Cremation and Funeral Service, Covell-Traverse City Chapel.
