Obituary

Mr. James Scott Snider, age 53, of Rogersville, Alabama, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013. He was born September 26, 1959, in Lansing to Raymond and Nancy (Spenny) Snider. He graduated from Mason High School and attended Ferris State University for one year. He was baptized at First Presbyterian Church in Mason. James was a great sports fan; his favorites were the Detroit Lions and the Chicago Cubs. He loved fishing at Pentwater and on the Tennessee River on his boat named "Seabird". He farmed with his father on the family farm in Mason, and then worked at Safety Kleen in Grand Rapids until 2004, when he moved to Alabama where he assisted his brother in property management. He was always ready to give a helping hand to others.

James is survived by his mother, Nancy Snider of Pentwater and Apache Junction, Arizona; his sister, Linda (Thomas) Harrison of Spring Lake; two brothers, David (Linda) Snider of Rogersville, Alabama and Steven (Margaret) Snider of Key West, Florida; and his nieces and nephews, Jason Snider, Nanette Snider, Lacey Snider, Linsey Snider, Michelle Kitzrow, Melanie Wojciakowski, Tyler Schartzer, Gina Schmidt, Terese Vinson, and Emil DiVietri. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond L. Snider in August 2003.

The Funeral Service for Mr. Snider will be Thursday, August 8, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church in Pentwater with Rev. Gary Bekofske officiating. Interment will be in Pentwater Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to James S. Snider Memorial Fund, PO Box 541, Pentwater, MI 49449.
