James Arthur Treptow, 87, of Whitehall, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019. James was born December 28, 1931.
James married Ormal "Ork" Niesen on August 29, 1953. Together they were blessed with 35 years of marriage until her death in 1988. James served his country proudly in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, bowling, and spending time volunteering and being at the VFW Post 3256. James was a very devoted member of St. James Lutheran Church.
James is survived by: his children, Gail Crane, and William (DeeDee) Treptow; grandchildren, Kelly (Kevin) Bantien, Clinton Cooper, Jason (Amanda) Cooper, Jon (Joy) Crane, Michael (Jill) Crane, and Karrie Twork; 11 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Ormal; brothers, Laverne Treptow, and Paul Treptow; sister, Laura Cole; and son-in-law, Richard Crane.
Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 27, 2019, at St. James Lutheran Church, 8945 Stebbins Street, Montague, with Pastor John Brooks officiating. The family will receive guests from 10:00 AM until time of services. A private interment has already taken place at Oakgrove Cemetery in Montague
