James Clinton
Yeager Sr.
January 29, 1936 – August 23, 2018
James "Jim" Clinton Yeager Sr., 82, of Ludington, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018, at Oakview Medical Care Facility in Ludington. He was born January 29, 1936, in Ludington, the son of Paul and Elverna (DuVall) Yeager.
Jim served in the US ARMY and had been a member of the Edwin H. Ewing American Legion Post #76, in Ludington, where he enjoyed playing cards. He retired from Packaging Corp. of American, where he had been employed for over 30 years. He was an avid fisherman and charter boat captain for many years. Jim enjoyed spending several winters in Florida and travelling, especially the trip to Alaska. He also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino with his wife, Grace. Most of all, Jim loved spending time with his family and being able to put on fish boils so they could all get together.
Jim is survived by: his wife, Grace Yeager; his children, James "Jim" Yeager Jr. of Walhalla, Debbie (Dave) Daugherty of Ludington, Cherie (Hugh) Gannon of Scottville and Jeff (Donna) Yeager of Branch; 7 grandchildren, Jimmy Yeager, Jaxon Yeager, Zach (Dena) Daugherty, Mandy (Rob) Curtis, Stephanie (Mike Lorenz) Gannon, Guy Gannon and Heather Wagner; 6 great-grandchildren, Remington, Lyric, Keagan, Jaxson, Jefferson and Cameron; his brother, Bob (Mary Ann) Yeager of Grand Rapids; his sister, Lois Larsen of Ludington; 2 sisters-in-law, Georgene Yeager of Ludington and Joan DuVall of Flushing; numerous nieces and nephews; and his four-legged companion, Murphy.
Jim was preceded in death by: his brothers, Clifford DuVall and Raymond "Hank" Yeager.
Memorial services will be conducted at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Pere Marquette Chapel, 309 S. Washington Ave., Ludington, with Father Mick Shriver officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 AM until time of services at the funeral home.
