Mrs. Jane Cowley McKevitt, age 79, of Northfield, IL, and long-time resident of Glenview, IL, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014, at her summer home at Bass Lake, in Pentwater, MI. She was born November 8, 1934, in Louisville, KY to Hays and Beulah (Slaughter) Cowley. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Kentucky University, graduating in 1956. On October 25, 1958, she married James McKevitt in West Point, KY; they were married 55 years last October.

Jane is survived by her husband, James McKevitt; their three children, Michael (Laura) McKevitt of Arlington Heights, IL, Carla (Bob) Stephens of Winnetka, IL, and Janet (Scott) Stephens of Wilmette, IL; four grandchildren, Alden Stephens, Owen Stephens, Grace McKevitt, and James McKevitt; and one brother, Hays (Shirley) Cowley of Lexington, KY.

The Memorial Service for Mrs. McKevitt will be Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 10:30 a.m.at St. James Episcopal Church, 82 South Wythe, Pentwater, MI with Rev. Michael Lindvall officiating. Interment will be in Pentwater Township Cemetery. A second memorial service will be held in Glenview, IL at a later date. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Glenview Community Church, 1000 Elm Street, Glenview, IL 60025.
