Janet R. Higginson passed away October 29, 2012. Janet was born May 2, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois to Karl and Johanna Fuehring. They moved to Hart, Michigan in 1921 to a farm in the Crystal Lake area. She graduated from Hart High School in 1935 and then attended Ravenswood Hospital School of Nursing, graduating as an RN. Janet married George Higginson September 1940 and they resided in Morton Grove, Illinois until they retired in 1973, moving to Ocala, Florida. They had one son, Donald Higginson, who passed away September 2010. She moved back to Hart, Michigan in 1992 after her husband passed away in 1990.

She had two brothers who preceded her in death, Carl and Grace Fuehring of Shelby, and Rudolph and Margaret Fuehring of Hart. She is survived by nephews and nieces Carl and Pat Fuehring of Mears; Douglas and Kathy Fuehring of Hart; Bruce and Marybeth Bachar of Morton, Illinois; Ronald and Nancy Riddehough of Cary, Illinois; Edwin and Joan Curtis of Arizona; Judy Higginson of Redlands, California; and Patricia Riddehough of Foxhole, Illinois; and many great-nieces and nephews.

Per her request, there will be no service, as cremation has taken place and interment will be with her husband and son in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Memorials may be sent to the Oceana County Medical Care Facility, 701 East Main Street, Hart, MI 49420.
