Janet Irene Rolewicz

Rolewicz, Mrs. Janet I. 83, of Montague, (former resident of Tinley Park, IL), passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024, at her home in Montague. She was born May 13, 1941, in Chicago, the daughter of Robert and Mary (McCann) West, and was a long-time resident of Tinley Park, IL, and Montague, MI.

Janet married her husband, Peter C. Rolewicz, in 1965, and started a family in 1967. The family grew through the addition of biological and adopted children, as well as being a foster parent to many babies. Janet offered countless hours providing support and advocacy for foster and adoptive parents and worked as a teaching assistant for many years. She was an avid knitter and enjoyed traveling.

Janet is survived by: her children, Peter C. Jr. (Elizabeth) Rolewicz, Jennifer (Nick) Iannuccilli, Andrew (Kerry) Rolewicz, Lori (Mark) Newell, David (Jeannine) Rolewicz, Harry III (Kirsten) Rolewicz, Thaddeus John (Jaime) Rolewicz, and Casey Rolewicz; 22 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother,  Robert Patrick (Theresa) West; sister, JudiAnn DeMartino; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Janet was preceded in death by: her husband, Peter C. Rolewicz; sons, Timothy and

Jonathan Rolewicz; and grandson, Ethan Rolewicz.

A private memorial gathering will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, in Montague, at a later date.
