IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janice Kay
Lautner
October 30, 1957 – January 31, 2025
Janice Kay Lautner, 67, passed away on January 31, 2025, in Traverse City, Michigan. Born on October 30, 1957, in Traverse City, she spent her life in the community she loved, surrounded by family and friends.
Janice was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished her children and grandchildren deeply. She was best known for her great sense of humor and a generous heart, always bringing laughter to those around her. Janice was also known for having one of the cleanest homes around. She took pride in making things look nice with great care and dedication.
Her love for horses was a defining part of her life. She found joy in horseback riding and loved going to horse camps at Mud Lake and Ranch Rudolph in the past. She also had many dogs and cats throughout her life. She had a deep love for all animals. Like her mother before her, she had an uncanny ability to remove any stain from clothing—a skill that made many people happy.
She is survived by her sons: Jamie (Kelsie) Correll, Jesse (MaryKay) Correll, and Joseph (Tisha) Correll. She also leaves behind her brothers: Loren (Sandy), Larry (Terry), Dan (LuAnn), Jeff (Trish), and her sister-in-law Sally; as well as her grandchildren: Jesse A., Aaron, Jazmyn, Kala, Dylan, Mykaylah, Aria, Logan, Olive, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Janice was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Christan Lee Dewitt; her parents Lavern and Maxine Lautner; her brother Jim Lautner; and her nephew Todd Lautner.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A luncheon to celebrate Janice's life will be held on March 22nd at the Springville Township Community Center at 105 W Mesick Ave. Mesick, MI from 1pm-4pm.
Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Traverse City Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
