Jean Althea Buozis, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Friday November 7, 2008 at the age of 93. Jean was born Jean Althea Hannon January 18, 1915 to Elmer and Georgia (Kellogg) Hannon in Grand Rapids, Wis. Jean attended nursing school at Butterworth Hospital School of Nursing in Grand Rapids, MI, that launched a long career working in Hart, MI. Jean was employed by the Ocean County Redisential Facility on Lever Road, Oceana Hospital ER and OB and retired as Director of Nurses for the Oceana Medical Care Facility in 1978. Jean was a long time member of the Rebecca's Lodge in Walkerville, MI and a life member of the American Nurses Association. Jean joined husband Joseph Buozis in marrage on July 1, 1939 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Then moving for a short time to Grand Rapids, MI. before moving to Walkerville, MI to live and raise thier family. Jean loved reading, cross stitching, gardening, time spent with her husband at their winter home in Mercedes, TX and most of all she loved her family. Jean is survived by son Paul (Sandra) Buozis of Prairie Village, KS, daughter Judy (Jerry) Fessenden of Crystal Valley, MI and son Rick (Kris) Buozis of Bitely, MI. Grandchildren Jessica (Don) Kilcoyne, Todd (Lori) and Troy (Mary) Fessenden, Joe (Shanon) Buozis and Jarrin (Greg) Boos. Great-Grandchildren Elizabeth, Jillian and Maddie Kilcoyne, Gabe and Gracie Fessenden, Brandon Fessenden, Nicole Thompson, Spencer Buozis and Halen Boos. Jean is preceeded in death by both parents, 1 sister Helen Smith, 1 brother Roger Hannon, husband Joseph Buozis on April 7, 1996 and son David on December 10, 1985. The Memorial Service for Mrs. Buozis will be held Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. from the Tate-King Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Abbott officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Cherry Blossom Manor Activity Fund in Hart, MI.
