Heaven gained another angel with the passing of our beloved Jeanne Boyd on Monday, July 24, 2023. Even in her final days, she touched others with her gentleness and beautiful smile.

Jeanne Marie Boyd was born November 30, 1929 in Syracuse, New York to the late George and Elizabeth Brott. She graduated from Onondaga Academy and married her high school sweetheart, William (Bill) Boyd. Together, they enjoyed family and friends and spending time on their boat the Albatross.

Upon her retirement from the Diocese of Lansing, Jeanne and, eventually, Bill moved to their home on the bay in Elk Rapids. Jeanne became very active in the community, joining Sacred Heart Catholic Church, singing in the community choir, being a member of the Elk Rapids Garden Club, checking in Harbor Days parade entries and enjoying a good game of Bridge with "the girls."  Never one to miss a social opportunity – Jeanne enjoyed her many friends in her "adopted" hometown of Elk Rapids.

Jeanne is survived by her grandson, Jonathan (Michelle) Brown, and granddaughter, Samantha (Derek) Willett; her great grandchildren, Keagan, Alexander, and Theodore Brown, Layla and Mack Willett; Wayne and Babe Toteff and family; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Bill, son Bill, Jr., infant twin daughters, and her sisters, Doris White and Beryl Donnelly.

Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 143 Charles Street, Elk Rapids, Michigan  49629, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.  Visitation will also be held from 5-7 PM, Friday, July 28, 2023, at the church, with a Vigil Service to take place at 7:00 PM.

A luncheon for family and friends will follow after the Mass.
