Jennie (Jen) Kiyak, 98, of Ludington, died Friday, December 22, 2017, at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital. She was born February 1, 1919, in Fort Frances East, Ontario, the daughter of Jacob and Anastasia Harasymyk.

Jennie graduated from Fort Frances High School in 1935, and later from Fort Frances Business School. She was employed as an accountant/secretary until her marriage, on October 12, 1940, to Eugene Kiyak in Detroit, Michigan. In 1961, they moved from Dearborn to Ludington, where Gene assumed the duties as District Manager of Michigan Consolidated Gas Company.

She was a member of the Community Church and a past member of Lincoln Hills. Her hobbies were playing golf, bowling, walking and being an avid reader.

Jennie is survived by: her daughters, Alexis Kiyak of Los Angeles, California, and Hollace Ellis (Jerry) Stoddard of Carlsbad, California.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Gene in 2003; her parents; step-father, John Butko; brother, William Harasymyk; and sister, Ann Ryan.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington.
