Jerry Ray Shangle, 70, of Ludington, passed away peacefully Friday, September 19, 2025, at MediLodge of Ludington.  He was born July 5, 1955, in Ludington, the son of Waldon and Grace (Fogarty) Shangle.

Jerry retired from Harsco Rail where he had been employed for over 20 years.  In his spare time Jerry enjoyed riding motorcycles, sailing, and tinkering in his garage.  He had been very active in the Michigan Special Olympics serving as the Area Director for many years.  Most of all, Jerry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

On October 15, 1977, in Ludington, Jerry married Diane Mary Varenhorst who survives him.  He is also survived by: 3 daughters, Mary Shangle, Beth Shangle and Keri (Rodney) Schroeder; 3 grandsons, Brian Shangle, Bryce Shangle and Mason Schroeder; his brothers, Waldon (Jill) Shangle II, and Terry Shangle; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
