IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jerry Virgil
Temple
February 14, 1942 – May 13, 2025
Jerry Virgil Temple, 83, of Whitehall, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025. He was born February 14, 1942, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Virgil and Lorraine (Oppelt) Temple.
On September 15, 1979, Jerry married Rose Brauer and they spent 45 loving years together.
Jerry graduated from Muskegon High School in 1960. After high school, he attended Muskegon Community College for a short time, while playing basketball. He left school to work at Campbell Wyatt and Cannon, where he worked for many years as a pattern maker, before ultimately moving on to Tri-Cast, from which he eventually retired.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, motorcycling, camping, and spending time with family and friends. In his younger years, he played a lot of basketball and golf, but later he enjoyed attending the kids and grandkids many sporting events and extra-curricular activities. He was known for great storytelling and being a goofy grandpa. He could fix anything, often coming up with a novel idea which most referred to as Jerry-rigging. He always encouraged those around him to try to do something themselves, but if they couldn't, he'd lend a helping hand.
Jerry is survived by: his wife, Rose Temple; children, Terry (Deb) Temple, Charlene (Kyle) Kurant, Nicholas (Sara) Temple, and Derek (Staci) Temple; grandchildren, Connor (Kristina) Kurant, Brett Kurant, Katey Temple, Bryanna Temple, Becca (Wyatt) Wright, Jayden Castillo, Carter Yager, Elliette Temple, Emry Temple, Xander Temple, and Braden Temple; great grandchildren, Riley and Emma Ware; siblings, Jim (Joanne) Temple, Cindy (Wayne) Gordon, and Kirk (Karen) Temple; and brother-in-law, David Babcock.
Jerry was preceded in death by: his parents, Virgil and Lorraine Temple; and sister, Janice Babcock.
