Jessica "Jessi" Leah Smith, 33, of Montague, died Sunday, January 29, 2017.

Jessi had a giving spirit and lived to help others.  She worked at Sanctuary at the Park, in Muskegon, and took very seriously her calling to provide a better life for those unable to care for themselves.

Jessi was a devoted partner to her beloved, Dirk, and she showered their children with love and attention.  She was a constant fixture in her childrens' lives and could often be found cheering them on at sporting events or helping them with their homework.

Jessi is survived by: her partner, Dirk Stehouwer and their children, Seth and Natalie Stehouwer of Montague; her parents, Jeffrey and Susan Dahms of Montague; her sisters, Ashley and Samantha Dahms of Montague; her maternal grandmother, Mary Jo Smith of Virginia, Illinois; her paternal grandmother, Linda Dahms of Montague; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Jessi was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, HB Smith and her paternal grandfather, Jerry Dahms.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service – White Lake Chapel, in Whitehall, with the Reverend Nathan Sabin officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of services.
