Mrs. Jewel A. Wieber, age 80 of Hart, died Wednesday December 30, 2009. She was born in Hart of July 30, 1929 to Delos and Pearl (McCarty) Thaler and had been a lifetime area resident. On August 24, 1944 in Hart, she married Francis W. Wieber. Mrs. Wieber's interests included being a 4-H Club leader and collecting ladybugs and taking many photographs. She also loved her grandchildren and to bake cookies and was affectionately known as the cookie lady. Mrs. Wieber had attended St. Gregory Catholic Church. She is especially remembered by the many people she sponsored at the Hart AA Group and had received her 26 year medallion on the day of her death. Mrs. Wieber is survived by her husband of 65 years, Francis W. Wieber and their children, Judy (Roger) Mitchell of Paris, MI, Frank Wieber of Jackson, MI, Janis (Sam) Bucher of Fountain, MI, Fred (Audrey) Wieber of Otsego, MI; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three brothers, Bob Thaler of Florida, David (Ida) Thaler of Hart and Joe Thaler of Hart; two sisters, Millie (Bob) Johnson of Shelby and Brenda (Freeman) Savage of Freeland, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Don Thaler, sister Ora (Paul) Osborn. The Funeral Service for Mrs. Wieber will be held Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. from the Tate-King Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Hart Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 2-5 P.M. at the Tate-King Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Hart AA Group or the American Cancer Society.
