Joan Barno, 78, of Muskegon, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024. She was born February 22, 1946, in Ypsilanti, the daughter of Arthur and Edna (Phizacklea) Rye.

Joan is survived by: her husband, Ken Barno; children, Brian (Janeth) Barno, Sharon Barno, Sheryl (Hosiea Bailey) Barno, and Burton Barno; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Martin "Tom" (Tarry) Rye, Hazel (Ron) Turland, and Donald (Cindy) Rye; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Helen Rye.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM, Friday, January 3, 2025, at Fruitland Township Baptist Church, 4611 Orshal Road, Whitehall, MI 49461, with visitation taking place one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, 413 South Mears Avenue, Whitehall, MI 49461.
