IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joan Frances
Mcmullin
April 8, 1924 – July 8, 2019
Joan Frances Weston McMullin, 95, of Michigan passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on Monday, July 8, 2019, at St. Ann's Home in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Born in Chicago, IL, she is predeceased by her parents, Grove and Frances Weston, her husband of 55 years, Frank McMullin Sr. of Ludington, Michigan, and one grandson.
Joan was a devout Catholic with a great love for God. In her youth, she was an accomplished opera singer. She raised her four sons in the Chicago area and then excelled as a residential real estate professional. Her many passions included family, photography, nature, cats, dogs, birds, storms over Lake Michigan, Christmas, chocolate, cookies, and coffee.
Joan and her beloved husband Frank enjoyed vacationing in Bass Lake, Michigan every summer with their family and dogs. Their love for the area led them to retire to Ludington in 1981. It was in Ludington that Joan's passion for photography flourished. From their home on a bluff high above the coast of Lake Michigan, Joan took beautiful photographs of sunsets, storms, and moonlight on the water. She frequently had a booth at local craft shows where she sold her pictures.
Joan is survived by her four sons and their wives: Frank and Diane McMullin, Jr., John and Donna McMullin, Sr., Larry and Karen McMullin, and Mike and Marcia McMullin. Joan is also survived by her 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be given to St. Ann's Home of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at St. Ann's Home, 2161 Leonard St. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:30 AM until of Mass at St. Ann's.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at St. Ann's Home and Emmanuel Hospice for their exceptional and loving care provided to Joan.
Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
