Joan Rae Peterson, 88, of Hart, passed away August 17, 2019, at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility in Hart. She was born April 22, 1931, in Chicago, the daughter of Ray and Evelyn (Gilman) Summe.

Joan was a teacher for 42 years in the Chicago and Tucson areas.

Joan is survived by: her children, Laurel Peterson, David (Gilda) Peterson, Julie (Keith) Moldovan, and Karen (Sam) Watrous; and 7 grandchildren.

Joan was preceded in death by: her husband of 37 years, Robert Allen Peterson.

Cremation has taken place and services will be held by her family in Arizona.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
