In Loving Memory of John T. DeBruyn

John Thomas DeBruyn, 70, of Whitehall, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. He was born on December 10, 1953, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

John lived a life of faith, love, and service to others. A devoted follower of Christ, he found great joy in spending time with his family and friends, fishing, sports, and outdoor projects. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and a wonderful source of encouragement and support to all who knew him.

John is survived by: his loving and devoted wife, Diane (Arsenault) DeBruyn, of 38 years; son, Andrew (Rebecca) DeBruyn; daughter, Kristin (Christopher) Richards; sister, Lauralee (DeBruyn) Gates; brother, Jim (Judy) DeBruyn; sister-in-law, Margie (Aalbregtse) DeBruyn; and many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by: his parents, Arnold and Marion (Hertel) DeBruyn; brother, Lawrence DeBruyn; and brother-in-law, Daryl Gates.

Though we mourn his passing, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life in Christ. A Celebration of John's Life will be held at 12:00 PM, Thursday, October 17, 2024,at Calvary Church Chapel, 707 East Beltline NE Grand Rapids, MI 49525, with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Calvary Church of Grand Rapids - Jerusalem Project, which supports church planting and was a fund John supported passionately.

John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life."
