John "Rick" Frederick Quick, 71, of Pentwater, died Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Mercy Health Mercy Campus in Muskegon.  He was born February 7, 1950, in Portland, Indiana, the son of James and Gloria (Glenn) Quick.

Rick served stateside in the US Marine Corps during Vietnam, and was a member of the VFW.

Rick worked for Buds Wrecker, and multiple trucking companies for a total of 45 years.  In his spare time, Rick loved fishing, traveling, being on the road and an occasional trip to the casino. Rick also loved telling stories.  He was a very giving man, and would help anyone he could.

Rick is survived by: his wife, Linda Quick; 4 children, Rick Quick, Jody (Mike) Flanagan, Marcy (Brent) Austin, and Zack Quick; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Rob (Sue) Quick, Jim Quick, Dick (Patsy) Quick, Jeff (Diane) Quick, Mike (Teri) Quick, Tony (Sherry) Quick, Rodney (Michelle) Quick, David (Ann) Quick, Pam (Bob) Braam, Michelle (Randy) Burnett, Cindy Johnston, and Don (Carol) Quick; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rick was preceded in death by: his parents; his sister, Debbie Daker; his sister-in-law, Bonnie Quick; his granddaughter, Kimberly Flanagan; and his grandson, Dominic Austin.

Memorial services will be conducted at 5:00 PM, Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel., with Pastor Robert Hambright officiating.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 PM until time of services at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Eldon L. Chadwick VFW Post 6017 in Pentwater.
