John Baptiste Grimaldi, III, of Whitehall, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. He was born November 2, 1947, in San Jose, California, the son of John II and Gertrude (Ashe) Grimaldi.

John was an entrepreneur, craftsman, humanitarian, and longtime firefighter, serving the Boulder Creek community for more than 20 years. John was known for his gentle spirit, generous heart, and deep love for his family. He lived a life defined by helping others, creating with his hands, and giving freely of himself to his family and community.

He was married to Janice Conklin on 12/16/78 and together they had one child, Joseph M Grimaldi (wife Denice). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and by two children from previous marriages, John B.Grimaldi TV and Alicia Gappa. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Helen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 2, 2026, at St. James Catholic Church,5149 Dowling St, Montague, MI 49437, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM until time of Mass, and a luncheon to follow at the church.
