John Edward Heymes Jr., aged 75 years, of Traverse City, passed away on March, 25th 2024 ,in Traverse City, Michigan.

John was born in Dearborn, MI, to John Edward Heymes Sr. & Helen (Maize) Mace on November 29th 1948. The family moved up north to Traverse City where he attended Traverse City Senior High school.  He then served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  He retired from Munson Medical Center after nearly thirty years as a Security Officer.  He enjoyed riding & fixing motorcycles, fishing & spending time with his family.

John is preceded in death by: his Father, mother & Step-father Ray Mace; grandparents, Sterling & Imogene Maize; brother, William Heymes; uncle, Nicholas Maize; and Mother & Father in-law, Helen & Arthur C. Fredericks.

John is survived by: his wife of 53 years, Arlene (Fredericks) Heymes; two sons,  Benjamin (Adrienne) Heymes & Matthew Heymes; brother, David (Diane) Heymes; sister, Brenda (Mace) Cunningham; three granddaughters, Natalie, Lydia & Kaylee Heymes; brother & sister in-law, Arthur & Karen Fredericks; as well as numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.
