June 27, 1962 – August 9, 2020
John Stuart Kennebeck, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away surrounded by his wife, children, and beloved dog, Josie, on August 9, 2020, at the age of 58. He was born June 27, 1962, in Landstuhl, Germany, the son of Thomas and Gertrud (Nobauer) Kennebeck.
John lived most of his life in Whitehall, where he graduated in 1980. He went on to attend Ferris State University, graduating in 1985.
On July 28, 1990, John married the love of his life, Dawn Graves, and together they were blessed with three wonderful children, Stephanie, Austin, and Joshua.
John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends camping, boating, golfing, and traveling. He had a quick wit, big smile, was funny, smart, and a born leader. He was employed by Howmet Aerospace where he was on a leadership committee for the United Way. John volunteered many hours helping others. He was a loyal and dedicated employee. John was also a member of the White Lake Eagles Aerie #3214.
John is survived by: his loving wife, Dawn; daughter, Stephanie (Jason) Kennebeck; sons, Austin Kennebeck and Joshua Kennebeck; father, Thomas (Margaret) Kennebeck; mother, Trudy Kennebeck; brother, Kevin (Julie) Kennebeck; father-in-law, Tony Graves; brothers-in-law, Bob Graves and Ken (Cheryl) Graves; and aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
John also had a special "family" of truly amazing cherished friends, most of them since childhood, whom he loved so much.
There will forever be a void in all our lives.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, 413 South Mears Avenue, Whitehall.
