John Thomas Oszust, 81, of Scottville, died unexpectedly Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital.  He was born September 10, 1936, in Hemlock, the son of John and Helen (Zimmer) Oszust.

John enjoyed hunting, bowling and playing softball.  He loved travelling and camping, and was an avid gardener.  John attended St. Simon Catholic Church in Ludington.

John is survived by: his wife, Patricia Oszust; his children, Gary (Carolyn) Horton of Ludington, Michael Oszust of Ludington, Joseph Oszust of Ludington, Jonda Light of Louisa County, Virginia, and Shae (Lamonta) Harris of Alexandria, Virginia and; numerous grandchildren; and his sister, Marian Remwolt of Clearwater, Florida.

John was preceded in death by: his son, Terry Horton; and his daughter, Sherry Horton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 25, 2018, at St. Simon Catholic Church, in Ludington, with Father Wayne B. Wheeler presiding.  Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Muskegon.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of Mass at the church.
